Made famous for its “hills alive with the sound of music”, Salzburg is a very pretty town filled with romantic buildings and squares. If you are not yet aware that Mozart was born here, then you will be as soon as you land at Salzburg W.A. Mozart International Airport.
Further your education about this musical prodigy at his actual birthplace, Mozarts Geburtshaus. The city is the namesake of the Salzach River which runs through it, and alongside this beautiful river lays the Schloss Mirabell, one of the many impressive castles within the city limits. Schloss Mirabell and Hellbrunn with their picturesque gardens, beautiful galleries and impressive halls make the ideal spot for a picnic during summer.
The white-stone Hohensalzburg fortress is perched upon a green hill and offers magnificent views over the city. Or, you can escape it all in the Kapuzinerberg forest, which offers splendid Alpine vistas- a reminder of Salzburg’s natural beauty.
The shopping centre focuses around Alter Markt Square and Getreidegasse, the latter is a quirky street with old-fashioned signs indicating what each store sells. With 125 hotels and guesthouses available on Booking.com, your stay in Salzburg is bound to be as pleasant as this city is pretty.
A wonderful city among majestic mountains! Good accommodation, good food, nice people. Definitely a must see, charming old streets, beautiful scenery. I was very impressed by the Höhenfestung / Fortress, which I visited walking up to the top and walking down after a good rest on the top. It´s a real delight to sit there and enjoy the magnificent scenery, those high mountains. I´ve also made day trips to Innsbruck, Zell am See and Bad Ischl, all well worth visiting. Beautiful cafes that serve breakfast or nice terraces for lunch or evening dinner. Another must try is the Salzburger Nockerl, which was amazing. It was easy to walk just everywhere, but there are buses just everywhere. The hotel gave us a guest mobility ticket, very useful, indeed.
All in all it was a wonderful trip.

Salzburg is a stunning city , very clean, easy walking around with most attractions easy reach.we did the dinner and concert at the fortress would recommend, we were there early and lucky to get a window seat with fab view .
We also did a trip to Hallstatt so glad afternoon trip was fully booked so we did the morning, would hate to think how busy it gets during the day. We did the cable car ride when we got there so it wasn't as busy another recommendation. Then wandered around.
The castle and museum very interesting, and the gardens and parks also lovely.

There are restaurants and then there is Hubers im Fischerwirt, I swear after eating there if I had died I would have been happy for eternity.
Augustiner Brau Mullln is the place for beer and casual dining, but you may find the beer dominates, never have I experiences such craftsmanship in a beer, never have I drank 6 litres in 4 hours and not felt as drunk as a skunk, but it does have a bit of a kick!
The old part of Salzburg is wonderful to wander around for hours.
Just remember that at the stroke of 10:30 PM the town is closed - Nothing is open after that time, so head back to the hotel and have a drink.

As stunning and charming as every other historical fairy-tale city in Austria. As expensive as well, too. Must do: Mozart concert, Salt mine tour. There is nothing unlikable about Salzburg. Your bucket-list isn't complete without it.

The city is wonderful, full of beautiful historic buildings and surrounded by wonderful scenery. The bus system is exceptional and enables visitors to navigate the city and surrounding area cheaply and with ease. To take in a concert is a must and we can recommend the concerts in the Marble Hall, Schloss Meribel.

Small but cozy, warm room. Ideal for a solo traveler. I didn't opt for breakfast as there is a McDonalds outlet right next to the hotel. The hotel is well connected to the city centre through public transport. The reception desk was very proactive in ensuring that guests are well informed of public transport timings and routes, and sight seeing locations. Thanks to the hotel staff for helping me with all queries I had about going around in Salzburg. They were very helpful. I had a nice stay at the hotel.
Happy I booked this hotel: friendly and helpfull hotel staff, cozy, clean and confortable rooms, good location to go directly to the old city centre by walking, good breakfast, nice hotel lounge with free coffe and tea and socialize with others.
The parking has an extra fee of 18 or 25 euro, it depends on the parking location.
Salzburg city is superb and it is worth to visit.
We were only in Salzburg for a day so chose this hotel for the location right at the main train station. About a 15 minute walk to the old town. Friendly staff and our room was ready before the official check in time so we checked in early. Room was clean and comfortable , mini bar was free. Worth getting a room on the higher floors for the view.
Great hotel, in the old town of Salzburg. The room is spacious, modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable, we slept very well. Ulrike, the host, warmly welcomed us and was very helpful with all the recommendation for things to do in our short stay in town. She really made our stay. Thank you, Ulrike. :)
