The property is just ok. But there are things that the property owner can improve to garner a higher rating from renters. First, they should not mix the images/photos of the upper and lower floor properties that they are listing for rent. We thought that we rented the upper floor based on the images/photos that they listed on booking.com. We ended up on the lower floor, with no washer and dryer. That is somehow deceiving to prospective renters. The images/photos listed should be specific to the property. On a minor scale, they should put clothes hanger on the wall in the bathroom, so that you will not put your new and used clothes on the bathroom floor.

Typically Swiss, Interlaken has an incredible location: on the Aar River linking nearby Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and in the shade of magnificent Alpine mountains including famous Jungfrau. The wonderful views are seen flying into Interlaken Airport.
The lakes are great spots for sailing, swimming or simply having a picnic along the peaceful shores. The area also has its fair share of high-adrenaline pursuits including bungee jumping, paragliding and river rafting.
In winter it’s all about the Interlaken skiing and snowboarding, with options including the fabulous Jungfrau Winter Sport Region and family-friendly areas with easy slopes. The Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn glacier is UNESCO World Heritage-listed, and the Jungfraujoch mountain railway takes you to the Top of Europe, the highest railway station in Europe. For a break from skiing, Europe’s longest toboggan run is a thrill a minute. Après-ski ranges from bars and discos to cosy restaurants serving specialities like fondue and raclette.
The town offers great views of the snowy peak of Jungfrau, best seen from Höheweg which also has a Japanese garden and lots of shops selling all things Swiss. Also here is the Hotel Victoria Jungfrau and the Hotel Royal St Georges, 2 Swiss Heritage Sites that are just some of the Interlaken accommodation options on Booking.com.
Absolutely loved my stay in Interlaken! The location was amazing—just meters from Interlaken West train station—and the view from my room was breathtaking. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was phenomenal. A perfect base for exploring the Alps. Highly recommended!

If I had known how many public transportation options there are (train, bus, ferry), I would have stayed somewhere quieter—around the lake in Spiez or Brienz maybe, or possibly up the mountain in Murren or Gimmelvald. The mountain trips get all the attention but don’t miss Aare gorge or St Beatus cave. I also heard Schloss Oberhofen (castle) is amazing. Take the ferry on lake Thun to visit the cave and castle. You can have a beer or coffee and food while taking in the views along the lake.

Interlaken as a town is very disappointing , full of cheap shops and fast food outlets ( except for the many shops selling Swiss watches )
The Grand hotel is wonderful if you can accept the eye watering prices .
Use it as a base to explore lakes and adjoining area or find a hotel at one of the pretty lakeside villages.

There was more to do in the area than I had time for, lots for all age groups. One of the prettiest places I have ever been to. Trip up to Harder Klum was nice and view from the top incredible. Transport system was good and easy to use.

The hostel is very nice and with great view, our room is facing the mountain which is an added bonus. It is located in a quite place but within a walking distance from the Interlaken west train station and a bus stop is only 400m away. For early arrival they allow you to store your luggage in their luggage room. Given the high cost of food in Switzerland, their breakfast provides great value. It's a deal you won't find elsewhere, so I recommend booking without hesitation.
Restaurant was excellent. Wonderful dinners and very friendly staff.
Braekfasts also great
This property is about 0.5km from main Interlaken village, and an easy walk. Glad it was away from the main village which was bustling with so many foreign tourists, and frankly the village did not feel like Switzerland at all, so good the accomadation and excellent restaurant were away from this.
We decided to book at Interlaken to be our base for Switzerland. We easily took buses/trains to Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and even went as far as Zurich day trip. We had a window room so the view was pretty amazing in the morning and you can even see the Swiss Alps.
Lovely helpful staff and a good location. Only 10mins walk to the centre of Interlaken. Expensive for a fairly basic room but everything in Switzerland seems very expensive especially in Interlaken. The bathroom was tiny and no air conditioning.
