We loved everything about Hotel Gallia! We decided to stay at the last minute while traveling from Merano to the Stelvio Pass and then down to Lake Iseo and are SO happy we did. It was the perfect starting point for not only the Pass but for the Stelvio National Park and plenty of hiking. The location was absolutely stunning, the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious (all house-made dishes, including the best venison I’ve ever had — caught by one of the family members!). We happened to stay the last night they were open for the season, or we would absolutely have stayed longer.
Gasthof Stern is located in Prato allo Stelvio. It offers a traditional restaurant and free bikes. Wi-Fi is free in public areas.

Lovely nights stay - Beautiful location and a perfect size room with a nice balcony overlooking the surrounding street. Pizzeria downstairs was brilliant but even though was directly below our room, there was no noise or problems from it during the night. Stay were accommodating and put up with our lack of German language!

We loved our stay here! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and we loved the upscale yet homey feel of the hotel. We didn’t book a half board stay but we still ate dinner in the restaurant, and it was absolutely divine. The breakfast buffet was also really excellent. We had an amazing view of the mountains from our room and just loved how peaceful and beautiful the property and surrounding area is.

I don't write a lot of reviews, but this hotel deserves all the positives I can give it. In retrospect, we wish we had scheduled to stay more than one night. The property and rooms are exceptionally clean and look almost new. The five course dinner (which we didn't know about until we arrived) is phenomenal. So is the breakfast. Conveniently situated on the east side of the Stelvio Pass and is perfect for exploring and hiking. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

The hotel was exactly as promoted, the location ideal to commence a climb over the Stelvio Pass. We enjoyed an evening meal and very pleasant breakfast. We had arrived early and hoped that we might be able to get into our room mid afternoon, the staff were very welcoming and made it very easy. It had snowed on the pass, so we hung around until late morning before setting off, it was made very simple by the stff. Thank you for accommodating us.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty selection. There was also the option to have a cooked breakfast which we didn't take. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly
