Found and booked this place after I checked out of a VRBO booking in the area that I did not like. Walked to the property to ask questions and the staff was able to accomodate my stay, store my luggage and allowed a slightly early check in once room was available. Staff answered all my questions and were helpful I like the simple design and color of the room. Bed was spacious, unit was very spacious with a built walk-in closet that made it easy to store luggage out of sight. Information and basic necessicites were provided.

The location is fabulous. The accommodations are somewhat dated yet comfortable. They are, however, right on the beach. Ours had a lovely balcony with very good views.

We stayed in Room 7, the room was clean and perfect for our needs. Kitchen was well equipped. We had an issue with our fridge as it wasn't working, from reporting this issue to having it sorted it was just a matter of hours. The maintenance person was in touch and kept us updated throughout. Very efficient. We also happen to have had a perfect view every morning of the wild monkeys going past, between 8am-9am, what a treat! It was great! Staff were very friendly and super helpful. The pool area is really good!

St. James is one of the 12 Parishes on the island of Barbados. It if the home of the oldest Church on the island (which I attended a beautiful church service on Sunday morning). The local food and drink was delicious and I wish I had more time to experience more of it. St. James has much to offer in the area.

Good location with plenty of places to eat and drink, plus shops/supermarket. Beach was superb and sea weed free! On a return trip I would be tempted to stay at St Lawrence Gap for its quaintness and holiday atmosphere.

Having been many times to Barbados before I have stayed all over the island. I like the South coast for amenities and nightlife but the sea can be rough and the west coast is much nicer for beaches and swimming in the sea. St James is a nice part of the island pretty central for everything and handy for Bridgetown

So many little independent traders, supermarket, petrol station, safe. Amazing restaurant called The Tides. Plenty of beach’s and marine life all around. Swam with sting rays just by chance! However, Barbados is not cheap!

We like Surfside Bar: great for a drink, a good value meal, friendliness of staff. Massy's supermarket is great for supplies. Zaccios is a nice restaurant The blue and yellow buses run between Bridgetown, through Holetown and on to Speightstown. Fare is B$ 3.50 (2025) flat rate, and they run frequently from early morning to late evening. Our favourite place for a breakfast and lunch is Cafe Carizma in the Chattel Village next to Massy's. And there is a large car park between to supermarket and the Village.

St James is a relaxed part of the island with stunning beaches and vibrant beach bars. Swim safely, take a boat trip or socialise in style with your friends. Travel north or south on one of the many characterful, inexpensive buses that pass through to see traditional local neighbourhoods intertwined with some impressive new properties. Old Barbados co-exists with new to weave a Caribbean vibe to suit anyone’s expectations. Whether on a budget or treating yourself for a special occasion, You won’t be disappointed.

This was a no-frills apartment hotel, without food and services. The kitchenette was fine for putting breakfast and light lunch together, with a major and well-stocked supermarket immediately over the road. There are many restaurants/ cafes in the immediate neighborhood and taxis were easy to attain, with regular frequent buses north and south along the west coast road for those who are more budget conscious. We were allowed an extended check-out to help fill the time until our flight home. Lovely beach for swimming. Wi-Fi was good.

I had an exceptional stay at The Sandpiper. The service was top notch. The rooms are very well appointed and the beach is beautiful. Absolutely no complaints. I would be on a plane there now if I could be. One morning I arrived at breakfast to find an invitation from the hotel for a cocktail hour that evening, on the house. Truly generous hosts. I've stayed in many beautiful hotels and the staff and location make The Sandpiper a stand out experience.

The location was great - we booked 3 rooms which were all in the same location. The hotel is nicely located and easy to get around the island and being all -inclusive was great. The Cove Bar was very cool- Nice setting next to in in the swimming pool. Quite a lot of the watersport was freely available - although occasionally the sea was too rough and we couldn't use boat activities.
